The Arty Line - May 2024
Hello folks. Welcome to my brand new blog. I’m going to be running through all my adventures and activities from the previous month and casting an eye over what’s coming up!
Well, what a busy month it’s been. May was an absolute whirlwind. It all kicked off on the first weekend with not one - but two exhibition events - how fabulous is that!? I was exhibiting at the Melbourne Open Arts exhibition at The Athenaeum. It was a great event, with my pieces being dropped off in the pouring rain on Thursday evening followed by a private viewing on Friday 3rd. So many fantastic works of art on display and was very pleased with my positioning

Ready to go at the Belper Arts Trail - May 2024
The same weekend the Belper Arts Trail event was happening, so on Sunday morning I loaded up the car and spent 2 days meeting some amazing artists and art lovers as they ventured around Belper in the glorious sunshine.
The feedback for my work was amazing, so many lovely comments. Made plenty of sales too, and was chuffed to bits to have Ali, the owner of Nourish @44, pop and see me and buy the original art work of her amazing bistro https://www.facebook.com/NourishAtNo44 It is the best feeling when the owner of a property I’ve painted loves it so much they just have to have it.
After all that excitement, it was time to get back into the studio. I’m currently in the process of creating a couple of collections which will require plenty of creative planning to decide what I’m going to include. I’ll then be hitting the streets, as it were, to collect lots of reference sketches and photography to get the ball rolling and will update on those as they come to life.
And as if all that wasn’t enough - I’m exhausted just thinking back on everything that’s happened this month - I am so proud to announce that I have been selected as ‘Emerging Artist’ on an Arts Council funded project in Melbourne. Shadowing and assisting Jenny Stevenson https://jennystevenson.com/ - one of Creative Melbourne's resident artists with her ‘Reviving Melbourne’ exhibition which will be happening at the end of September in Melbourne itself. More to follow over the coming months on this, but I am very excited about being part of it.
